hi what is the best way to fix the brass end on the push rod what type of solder are you using for the stainless steel rod or has any one used epoxy fo fix them on thanks for the help

Try using silver solder, should hold if anything. I myself don't like the epoxy fix. I have had too many of the epoxy ones work themselves loose.

I´ve used flux. Then you can use normal solder.

hi guys silver solder is what i would like to use but i don't like the though of getting a flame that close to the pike fus. i have tryed using flux with normal solder did not work to well.if i could get the rods out i would take it to work and tig weld them on would never come of then

I have used silver solder before with a soldering iron. I am not sure of the brand, but it worked well. The other part about not getting regular solder to work is that stainless steel wire has a lot of oil in the cable and that prevents the solder from sticking well.

I sand the steel wire a little bit before soldering... Never had a problem...

i just built one for a customer , sanded the rods first, put some flux on the rod.

Clean out your coupler with pipe cleaner dipped in Acetone.

Then use Rosin core solder 40/60 and you can't pull it apart in a vise with pliers.

I sometimes take a few strands of wire from some servo wire, wrap this around your pushrod & coupler and put a small amount of solder to this.
