I was never a good pilot in that game either, only use the keyboard, no flight stick. I used to team up with a few guys online who were real good flyers. I used to hop in the backseat and play tailgunner, it was fun. Haven't played that game in a while though.

I love BF 1942! I can fly the planes to they are easy! i like to play online on a goof around server and like to do inverted passes over the runway with a Jap Zero lol great game

Yes flying in BF42 is fun.
The flight model is a little arcadish but fun.
Where else can you dogfight , strafe AA or tank and parachute out and jump into tank or whatever ! If your an engineer you could land ur smoking damaged plane and fix it ! In some servers planes are outlawed because they can damn near kill everything with a good pilot at the stick.

I love to "swoop" the flag carrier in CTF( capture the flag) matches and bring him home.
The best move ive seen on BF42 is a flag snatch with airplane while doing a loop. The pilot will start a loop over flag and while inverted above flag , he'll then parachute out... snatch flag on the way down and the plane will continue the loop at the bottom so he " falls" into cockpit ! sick !

lol there is this one server called Mafia no rulles server and it is the BEST! all the planes have no damage when you hit the ground. some special planes have boost when you hold the bomb key. and all the cars and jeeps have boost aswell and when you right click for te boost on the cars. they wil fly! its awesome

Have any of you played battle field 2 yet? It is really fun, the air coombat is in jets though. *Requires a good computer.*

I've flown a lot of flight sims; Jane's WWII Aircraft, MSFS, Falcon 4 etc. but I get the biggest buzz from BF42.

The physics of the game are (to me) realistic. The collision detection, ballistics, sound handling (even shrapnel flying past you has a sound propety..you can hear the doppler effect!)

Wing walking is fun too. Ever seen a B17 loaded with 10 guys on the wing? The game has longevity coded into it.

DICE are geniuses. Everyone should play it now! :)

yeah i love that game!!!
BF V and BF 2 also have some really good a/c combat
also there is a nightfighter mod for the BF V which is pretty good.
I love goofing off on multiplay.

I actually got 2 plane to plane kills using guns.
the throttle is slow tho, so I prefer a joystick for no bangbang controls, but i dont have one XD

where do u get the b 17s in the game?

Allies in Boccage or Aberdein - whichever map comes up after Battleaxe.
The ball turret in the B-17 is the best rush in the entire BF game - soo much fun.

I had the demo once and didn't like it much- the planes were far too easy. Give me IL-2/Forgotten battles any day :cool:

I play BF2 CONSTANTLY. The jets are more realistic than the planes in BF1942. However, they are still arcade like. They have to be though beacause the maps are quite small (huge on foot) small doing 400 MPH.

Its also not a game to play others in fighter aircraft. That would put you in the Jet-Whore n00b category.

Now Combat Flight Simulator 3 by Microsoft is great. You need a great computer for these games nowadays tho.

Im good with the keyboard I guess its from flying fms on it before I had g3 I dont know how I did it but I was able to use my g3 transmitter in that game once it was REALLY cool!
