Hello to all.
My interest lies with the rc airboats. I built my first about 15 yrs ago, spent a few years modeling then drifted in and out of rc's for a while (may have had something to do with those teenage years. :D ). But for the last 6 yrs or so I have been really into the airboats....great family fun!!
Does anyone here dabble with airboats?
Here's a few of the boats that I have built.

I like how you color coordinated the engine on the 1.08 ;)

I've seen some of those boats before, especially the onboard video one.
Lots of them seem to do donuts almost uncontrollably. Is there a way to minimize that? Perhaps a skeg under the hull or something?

My boats will do "water-nuts" in a very tight circle, but yet they track straight.
Like all other boats if you are not set up right, then yes the boat may have a tendacy to spin out in one direction or the other or possibley run in in oval.
I have built alot of boats in my time and have some pretty good setups that run very nicely. Less experienced boaters are always asking how to keep them from spinning.
A skeg or strakes on the bottom will help with the tracking. But a skeg too tall will cause you to be a bit unstable on dry ground.
