an Axi 533018 with a cc phx hv 110 ESC, a 20" to 22" prop, and a ridiculously pricy 10s lipo @ 8000mah or so, would power up in the 2000 watt range, you know about 2.6HP or thereabouts. Feasible but....scary.

Check out the the sites for CC, HL, TP, FMA, AF and others before proceeding any further. Also check out the Actro and Plettenberg sites. Spend a couple of weeks or more doing extensive research about very serious Epower and large scale airplane hardware. you know, IMAA /IMAC size airplane stuff.

How secure is you marriage? Big projects like this can seriously strain a relationship.

Also how deep are your pockets? This project will require the best equipment and will be seriously pricy especially if you purchase: 2 or more battery packs, no to mention the scad of high torque digital servos, high power BEC circuits, multiple servos per surface, top of the line pcm Transmitter, rervo equalizers, redundant PCM receivers, lipo chargers, separate power for the servos with redundancy. etc., etc.

The list does go on. pricy? maybe so. We are now playing with the big dogs, in the $2000 to $3000 range or more, easily. Got a sponsor? You may need one, not to mention a shrink, marrige counselor, or lawyer.

But if none of this dissuades you, then right on, Brother. Fly High and be careful! because "with great power comes great responsibility" or is that liability?

Good luck, Ray Foley

ps I infest the Toledo area and fly a UCD46 with axi power, drop me a PM maybe we can hook up sometime. rjf

Wow, that was an intense post Ray. If you want good performance, you will have to spend a good deal, but it is very possible, and shouldn't present to much hassle. what's the typical glow weight of this puppy?

Hello

Here is an electrified Giant U-can-do in the low power end.
The power is approx. 220-230W/kg on only 5s Lipo. The plane ain't hovering I belive and it is not tested, since my brother flying and owning the plane are a first year flyer, but it is flying ordinary aerobatics just fine. Flight time on 4100mAh is around 10 mins. The video are from the planes third flight.

I suggest:
AXI 5345/16
12S 3700 Zippy Rhinos
Jeti Spin 99
APC 20x10E prop.
14 lbs and 2800 watts
