This is my first post on this forum, from France.

I'am actually building a kind of picolario set with a few extra capabilities that will extend its use to the uav world.
As this is mainly build regarding the passion I have for silent wings, I need to implement a good vario ; a compensated one. I found little docs on the net which explain a few things ; related maths and probe design but I'am not satisfied.

Does any one have a detailed design reference guide about such probes ?
or any advice.
(I 've very little knowledge about aerodyn. and thermodyn.)

THX for any help, good flights

See the links section of http://hem.passagen.se/skj/engelska/rcel.htm for a TEK nozzle diagram. Also see http://www.nutterpilot.freeserve.co.uk/www/Handouts/Mike's%20Handouts%20(updated),%20less%20photo%20TP s.pdf for a very good discussion about varios. If you have to make your own hardware, you might start with Dietrich's Logger which has a vario at http://home.arcor.de/d_meissner/d_logg2_engl.htm. I am also working to make a hommade vario from this set of plans. Finding actual TEK nozzles is difficult. I'd love to find one too! Maybe someone else has a good link...

thx very much for having found those links for me. The RAFGSA COMPETITION TRAINING WEEK NOTES will be of great help for me. Not only for the TEK but also for the flying science...
To elaborate...I'am an electronic engineer (I use to work for ITRON.inc, a company that used to be in part in Raleigh, don't know if it's still the case ?).
I'am now designing RC stuffs to drive industrial devices such as trains, cranes and so on. So I'am using parts of hw/fw I designed for that buisiness to fullfill my own purpose ; build a telemetry suit for sailplane.

Again thanks and have fun flying
