Can anyone recommend any suppliers of toko coils, other than BEC in the UK.
I heard the word Sumida mentioned on an older post. Cannot find any links. All info gratefully accepted.
cheers

Frankly, no chance.
Even when I was designed for 1000 up production runs, no one wanted to know.
The range is huge, and most people carry at best half a dozen items. The rest get shipped in from Japan in 10,000 and up boxes...when you order them.

http://uk.digikey.com/
They have Toko, and Sumida and a gazilion other stuff
And this is from their policy:
"Shipping Charges
A shipping charge of £12.00 will be billed on all orders of less than £100.00. Free shipping is offered for all orders of £100.00 and greater. Shipping charges are from Digi-Key's Product Distribution Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Shipping charges and duties are prepaid by Digi-Key and added to your invoice. (DDP as defined by INCOTERMS 2000).
* (If unique circumstances require deviation from this charge, customers will be contacted prior to shipping an order.)
Handling Charge
A £10.00 handling charge applies to all orders less than £75.00. This fee will be waived on orders of £75.00 or more."

Hi All,
IanS and plane spotter, digikey have a lot of items listed.
I got excited about that too a while back.
But unfortunately, as vintage1 pointed out, not many items are in stock.
Toko have a HUGE range of products and unless its a "standard" item the reselers wont have it in stock ( even the SMD filters and discriminators for 455kHz ......).
Large end users can afford to get large quantities and usually deal with the manufacturer directly. The reselers in this case get what is left over from over-runs ...
Another place to keep an eye on is ebay. Now and then there may be some usefull things.
A lot of people have also canabolised old pagers, mobile phones and radios for components.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
Zlatko
