HI

This is my first post, but i just have to say: GREAT forum :)

Anybody here who knows this system ? see subj.

Is it ok to only use the altitude from the GPS, how precise is it ?

Yes, I fly the AP4 autopilot on my telemaster and it works pretty well with gps altitude. It is not as precise as a barometric altimeter, but with the WAAS here in the states it usually only varies by about 10 feet. I am not sure if in Denmark the gps is as accurate, but unless you need to fly close to the ground it will probably work. The barometric altimeter systems cost a lot more.

What is the source of the AP4 Autopilot? I know that they are occasionally for sale on Ebay but who makes them and where are they made?

The Geko 301 GPS recomended for the AP4 claims to have a barometric altimiter in it. Hence it should be quite good.
