Yep, he did smack it but only because the engine did not have enough power due to much heat and rain, etc..... Yuri is a superb pilot and I think we will see him in the top 5 next yr !! Rod Maier (Chris's DAD)

I want to tell you how incredibly impressed I was with your son! His flights were terrific. He has some polish areas to work on, but he has a style all his own that was really refreshing and enjoyable to see. When he learns to finesse corrections, he's going to be a very real force to reckon with!
and I LOVED his music!! I was thrilled to hear the judges did too. I wasnt sure how they would feel about it but they took it for what it was -- great fun...

Thanks, Rod! I was running around so much all weekend, and i just didnt get to talk to as many competitors as i would've liked. I'm sure i'll have the pleasure of meeting Chris at future events. (I used to be a competitive scale aerobatic pilot myself, and my husband was 2 time IMAC Nats freestyle champion, so I really have a passion for this stuff and enjoy it enormously....)

BTW I grew up in Emmaus PA...I used to go shopping at the Whitehall mall as a kid!! :-) My aunt and uncle lived behind the old Hess'. Small world.
