I have some ideas I am working with, however, some require alot more research. One idea uses a SWATH type hull. My question is how do I judge the amount/volume of water displacement need, for a certain weight? I was once told by a sub modeler, that a 3 1/2" diameter polycarbonate tube, sealed at both ends, at 12 inches long, displaces the volume requiring about five pounds. Can somsone please help me? I just need to know about how much weight is required to displace a proper amount of volume. I want to minimize the need for adding tons of weight. Thanks. :)

Water weighs 1 gram per cubic centimeter (cc).
Or about .56 ounce per cubic inch.
Your task is to figure (estimate) the volume of your submerged hull.
