I have 2 OS .35 engines
I want to build a SPAD and this will be my first time building,
I started to build a Balsa Swizzle Stick, but I figured I should build a
SPAD first as a trainer plane. (I am flying a Parkzone Cub at this time)
I read the how to build The SPAD Big Ugly Hell On Rails and the BUHOR .25
I was surprised both has the same wing span.
So which should I build for the .35 engine, what adjustments I should make?
also I have some Coroplast signs kicking around if I can use 18x24 2mm and 24x30 3mm.
is 4mm really a 4mm thick? i measured 3mm on signs I have, so that might be a good match right off the bat for the .35 engine if I use 3mm for wings.

a Debut would be ok for that engine, check out the .40/.25 size plans under the "classics" http://spadtothebone.com/freeplans.htm

oops two things . . .
turns out I have 4mm coro and 8mm coro , I measured them wrong, I just got more 4mm (2) 4' x 4' (election signs)

also thanks for the reply hekili, but I want a dihedral wing, and also now I realise I don't have any 2mm coro that the debut uses.
I also haven't found any gutter pipe yet either, I guess my first experiment will be the BUHOR 25 with 4mm coro wing.

That should be ok with the extra HP from the .35 engine I would think.

The Buhor wing works very well, even though its relatively heavy compared to a 2mm wing, I built a twin that weighed around 9lbs using this wing with no dihederal, even at that weight it handled extremely well, and was quite easy to land. I used to build Debuts using 4mm Coro, it helps if you make the spar slightly wider to keep the coro from creasing as it goes over the top of the spar, also keep the wing clamped down a lot longer to make sure your glue goes off well, the trailing edge joint is under much more pressure.

Here's a couple of links that might be of interest to you.

Hope this helps :)
