Hey guys,
I seem to have a problem with my throttle (collective) control with Pre-Flight v1.95. I ran it on 2 different PCs running Windows XP Pro, 2 different tx, and 2 different cables (TTi and MileHigh)
In the Alt F2 Control Window, everything moves: rudder, aileron, elevator, but not the throttle.
Since I'm using the USB cable, I have it set to Joystick+keys, and have "none" selected under interface.
Anyone have this problem?

Eddie, did you map your throttle to Joy ch 7?; that's the one that works for me. I use a Hitec Focus 4 Tx and a USB interface called RC Joy that's worked for several years now. Pre Flight v 1.95 uses some odd channel mapping, but it does work once the basic set up is discovered; you may also know by now that rudder is on ch 6.
Hope this is of some help.

Thanks FreeFlier, when you say map the throttle to ch 7, do you mean it Pre-Flight under "Controls>Joystick+keys". Because it does recognize channel 3 as throttle, it's just when I try to lift off, I have very little collective up or down. So I'm able to get off the ground very slowly but have to fly in GE. And, after a little while it lifts a little higher but if I give it down collective it takes 5 seconds to react and slowly comes back down.

Eddie; Yes, Joystick + keys. I'm not a heli flyer, but my setup came from a forum contributor several years ago, and it does fly helis in Pre-Flight. If collective is the change in pitch of the rotor blades then the following setup works well; the helis seem to lift as quickly as the throttle is advanced:
throttle - 7 rev
aileron - 1 rev
elev - 2
rudder - 6
retract - 7
aux 1 - 7 rev
Why this odd mapping works is a mystery, but when I first found Pre-Flight, it was the only way to fly both the fixed wing and the rotary wing craft; ch. 3 would absolutely not move the throttle in v 1.95.
Out of ideas now, but with 7 -sims on my PC and a new Mac, I like to load Pre-Flight occasionally; it's a little quirky in some ways, but fun.
Good luck.

It's works! The strange thing is I had to add collective to _Aux1 and map that to Joy Ch03, and I left Joy CH03 to _Throttle as well and noticed that I can use it or not use it. Basically all it seems to do is change the sound of the motor from low to high and vice versa, and starts and stops the propeller movement for planes. For helis it dosen't seem to matter. And another weird but not weird thing is with MileHigh's cable PPJoy is not used, and the rudder belongs where it should on Joy CH04, but on TTi's cable PPJoy is used and rudder is on Joy CH06.
Thanks very much Stew, if it weren't for you, I would have given up already! :D ;)
