Aerofly Simulator with Optic 6 Tx

I thought I created a new Tread last night but know it does doesn't seem to be in this category.
Aw well here goes again.
I just purchased the newest Aerofly Pro Simulator
It says that I can use my Hitec Optic 6 Tx with the Simulator
My question is -- Does the Optic Tx have to have the battery charged and installed in it in order to work with the simulator ?

If your Optic is like my Eclipse then the answer is yes; the battery must be in and charged, and the tx must be on. I was highly disappointed to learn this as all the other sims I have use a USB interface with no tx power, antenna, or crystal needed.
