Hello

Glad to see this forum up and running. I have been monitoring it since it opened but this is my first post.

Does anyone know of any groung station software that shows instrument panel that uses Agwpe software and a PC soundcard?

There are some like Visual GPS and Track Maker but these require a com port and don't seem to be able to use a soundcard setup. I have a Tinytrack 3 which I am using to transmit over an audio channel.

Any help is appreciated.

I may be wrong, but I thought that anything packet related that used a standard serial com port could be tricked into using the AGWPE soundcard driver. So, if you have something that uses RS-232, then it should also work with the soundcard solution.

Edit: I just looked at the AGWPE docs and it says that only compatible packet programs will work. It is not as flexible as I thought.

Thanks for the reply. I was really hoping to get trackmaker working because it looks like a good program. I tried everything but had no luck.

I know MikeP was working on a ground station project http://rcpilot.sf.net) but I can't tell if it is still active or he has completed it.

I will stay on my quest and continue searching.

If anyone come across anything please let me know.

There is software posted to make your audio card work as a data input. Its posted somewhere but I forgot the URL :o

You could port the code from the autopilot.sf.net project, it runs on Linux x86 and decodes at 1200bps. Or you can make the dongle on their site that decodes at 4800bps and hooks into your serial port.

TrueTTY works very well. It can decode at 1200baud with AFC, and pipe RS232 data to a virtual port.

For some reason I can't find anything on the rcpilot.sf.net site.
I just can't seem to navigate the site. The only posts I can find are from last year. I am under the impression you have to pay a registration fee to access any new information on the projects.

I downloaded the program but can't get it to work.
Have you ever tried using this program with VisualGPS or GPS Trackmaker ?

If so is it possible to give me some ideas on setting up this program for use with a pc soundcard. At the moment I have U1-view operating perfectly but would like more of an instrument panel setup.

Thanks for everyone that has responded.

It wasn't too tough to get working, never used it with another app, just some home-brew dashboard.
In the setup dialog, ensure that the data exchange port is correct. Make sure that this is then routed through one side of the eltima virtual serial port driver to another port, which is then used by the mapping software.
Other than that, ensure that the Mode, Speed, and Shift are all correct.

Thanks AnthonyRC

I'll give it another go.
