Hi,

I posted this over at the electric site as well, but a few of us need help with a project.

We are trying to figure a way to install landing gear on the new Combat Corsair from Great Planes. It's a .25 sized ARF with a wooden structured wing and comes pre-covered. The finished weight is around 3 lbs, so it needs to stay light, but be sturdy enough to land a 3# bird.

Retracts would be best, but we're open to hearing fixed gear solutions also.

We need parts ideas as well as how to install them.

Thanks!

Michael

Any luck with this yet? I am trying to do the exact same thing but am unsure where to start. Robart makes 1/2 retracts....... Let me know what you figured out

Whoof ! The Corsair, like the P-40, is a toughie, because of the way the gear retracts backward.

Some time ago there was an article in (RCModeler?) showing how to add underwing long-range tanks to the Corsair, and hide wheels in 'em. Obviously not very scale, but workable for a sport plane.
