View Full Version : What's the RJ11 Pin-Out For Reflex XTR

Hi -
I am gearing up for the purchase of Reflex and I am going to use it with a very old JR radio that does not have a trainer plug - but I can unplug the rf module and get at the PPM signal.

I will have to fashion up a small cable from the RJ11 jack on the reflex USB dongle to my old transmitter.

Here's my question -

I understand that the first and third pins are the ones on the RJ11 jack - but what orientation? i.e. with the locking tab location of the jack on the dongle in the "up" position - reading the pins from left to right - looking at the connector from the outside of the dongle - what's the signal and what's the ground pin?

Thanks
Lewis

Simply use a cheap Digital Volt meter to bell out the lead that came with your original XTR. If you don't have a meter, then make up a continuity tester using a RX pack, two bits of wire and a 6v bulb. - The white lead on the diagrams on the Reflex site appear to be the signal wire, so refer to the diagram that corresponds with your original XTR lead, place one wire from the continuity tester on the signal part, and then touch the other wire on each pin of the RJ11 connector - the bulb will light when the circit is made !

White and tan are the two leads they are using whatever pins that corresponds to.
