I just got finished with a lew's A6 from indoor model supply. With the supplied rubber it will only do an extended glide. Now that glide probably takes 30-45 seconds to go down the 5 feet to the ground, but if it would climb at all I know I can get 3-4 min flights out of it. Short of getting thicker rubber or replacing the prop, what can I do to give it a little more umph?

Jim,
Of course the all American way is to add a bigger motor. Short of that you might try moving the cg back a bit. You can also try adjusting the pitch on the prop if that is possible. One other thing to look at is how many winds you are putting in, it seems that most of the thrust, therefore most of the climb comes in the first several seconds of a motor run. The more winds, the more initial thrust.

P.S. I think I finally have my new duties figured out;)

That's an excellent point. I was only putting a half wind on the motor for testing purposes. However if the plane was designed to climb on a full wind and only mantain middle way though the wind, that would explain not being able to climb... good point. I'll try a full wind and see how it goes.
