Hello,
I am building an Olympic II from Sky Bench Aerotech. I am almost finished with the construction but there is a laser cut part that is not on the plans and I can not find in the instruction book. This part is for the fuselage and I have attatched a photo with the part circled. I have tried to contact Sky Bench Aerotech but they are no help. Their tech support is non-existent. I have sent 5 emails with no reply and when I called them their answering machine says to call back in a month. This is a beautiful sailplane kit and I really like the quality but the support sucks. So if anyone has built this kit and knows where the part goes I would really appreciate any feedback.
Thanks, Jimmy

I'm just guessing... it looks like a former with cut-outs for the control rods on the sides and the size looks like it goes the tail.
Probably not much help.
I believe that Ray "Skybench" has a note on his Web site that he is closed until June(?). That probably explains his lack of response.

Jimmy,
the part in question is one of the fuselage formers. This particular one is installed near the rear section or behind the rear hold down dowel. The side cut-outs are for the control rod housing.

Jimmy, looks like the part is the last (smallest) former at the rear of the fuse. It has cut outs for the push rods, so I would expect it to go just about where the stab platform ends, and helps to support the front of the stab mount . Look on the plans for the placement of the last former. Ray is closed until June 6 or 7 after Woodcrafters. Bill G.

Wow that was fast. Thanks for the replies. I thought the part went in the back of the fuselage because it does have the pushrod formers but I will have to modify the fuselage slightly to make it fit, because the plans don't include this part and there is a fuselage strip that is used to strengthen the fuselage sides, so I will cut this out a bit, but that's where it's going. I really appreciate the help. I didn't realize that Sky Bench was on a break. Thanks
