I have decided to forget about my Honeybee and upgrade to a larger electric
and the T-Rex seems to be what I need are there any reasons not to buy one
if so what would you buy instead bearing in mind I am not a millionaire
and should I buy the bare kit and add my own radio bits or are the align
ones ok

You should try the X400 - this is the new helicopter

A couple of us in our Club have Trex's & we lovem to bits, to some extent
more than our Nitro Helis. They break when they crash, normally only a set
of blades at £8 & a bit on the tail. If you upgrade to a CNC Tail that
problem is resolved. Bear in mind Lipo's aren't cheap, and we have settled
on 3 x 2.2 amp lipos each. But then you don't have to buy fuel. We all
agree in our club, that the trex's have bought on our flying skills no end.

We didn't use the align radio gear, we used Futaba Servos, with a Hitec 50
on the tail. Futaba 401 Gyro, they are as steady as rock with this setup,
with the align gyro we had problems with tail wag.

Before you go & buy one in the UK, have a look at Flying Hobby in Hong
Kong, which is where our members got theirs from. With kit mentioned above
you will save over £200 on UK Prices & have it delivered to your door in
less than a week.

Theres a few links for the Trex on our Club site based in Milton Keynes,
just choose the News & Events Tag on the left to get to them.

I hope you don't mean that part too literally, Jeff! ;-)

I saw my first Trex the other day. It's the first micro (is that the
correct phrase in this case?) that I've ever seen fly outside. It's
performance and apparant stability was very impressive. Way better than any
of the other small helicopters I've seen to date.

Yours are the first comments I've read on the Trex with any content.
Thanks. I may have found one I'd like to try. :-)

Fly Safe,
