Look at this thread

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1474134/anchors_1625109/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#1625109

Say that the International Rectifier parts

IRF7401 and IRF7821 are good alternatives.

Says you can get them at Farnell www.cpc.co.uk but I can't see them.

You could also try RS www.rswww.co.uk

Check the International Recitifier site www.irf.com to make sure that these
above at least look similar to the component on your board.

In the meantime, I see if I can track down where to buy them from.

Cheers,

Nigel

Just checked RS - they sell them. £2.69 + VAT and postage.

Where abouts in the country are you? If you are unsure about soldering I
would be happy to help out. I'm in Horsham, West Sussex.

Cheers,

Nigel

Kevin,
try these:

IRF7401 and IRF7821 from RS, Farnell or Digikey in the UK mail order
beware they have minimum order quantities. They were mentioned in the
thread:

Re: Pictures of the Walkera No.35 RC Helicopter

Be aware that when the FET blew it may have allowed some power back into the
control circuitry and have damaged that as well as the FET. So just changing
the FET may not restore correct operation.

RS at http://rswww.com
Farnell at http://uk.farnell.com
Digikey at http://dkc1.digikey.com/uk/digihome.html

Chris,

That's interesting about Farnell - is the every day guy in the street
allowed to order from them or is it just companies.

I thought that CPC were Farnell's public point of sale.

But if you can order from Farnell as a memebr of public it is very good
because they stock them (unlike CPC).

Cheers,

Nigel

It has pair of fets in parallel I have remove the blown one and it now works
after borrowing one of the tail pair so I am going to put a new pair in the
main motor and replace the tail one

First the good news ....

The part is only 50p at digikey.

Now the bad ....

But add handling charge of £10
Add shipping charge of £12
TOTAL = £22.50 or $42.53

I really don't think digikey is in the running .... stick with Farnell or
RS.

Cheers,

Nigel

Yep, I've ordered direct from Farnell in the last year. I needed some
surface mount resistors to repair some recievers that had the chip broken
off the board (it was right up against the side of the case so when I
repaired the units I moved it away from the edge to give it some protection.
