i'm running a brushless multiplex bec controller with multiplex 4d motor,
thunder power 3 cell lipo 4000mah 11.1v, charges to 12.59 with triton..the
bird is a corona, so weight shouldn't be much of a factor.
i returned the first controller because of shorter and shorter flight times
over a 3 week period..from 8 minutes down to 3 before the voltage cutoff
kicked in.. the controller temp was averaging 150 degrees, and slightly
melted the clear shrinkwrap.
i got the new one back today. and my first flight time was 6 minutes with a
freshly chraged battery. the voltage cutoff was at 11.58v.
i can't program the multiplex except for "no brake."
anybody know what's happening, and is there a better brushless setup? maybe
one i can program?

thanks,
gary

i don't know the triton charger , can you see on the display how much its
puching
in the battery when the charging completes ?

maybe the rotor is not running smooth or you need to try some smaller
pinion.
anyway flatting lipo's on 3 min means you are running 20C on your lipo's.
are you sure they can handle that much !?. they might be abused to much

i looked over the rotor as you suggested, and due to my rookie mistake, the
blades were out of dynamic balance. before, the heli used about 1/2
throttle for take off, shook like a wet dog and sounded like a washing
machine. now that i've balanced them by loosening/tightening the opposing z
links just a few turns, quarter-throttle is all it needs and purrs like an
electric kitten.
i also ran the lipo's down 3 times to 10v, forcing the motor to re-engage
after voltage cut-off. that seemed to do the trick. after a 90 minute
charge, i'm getting 20-25 minutes of flight time..or any-minute crash times!
thanks for the help.
