I purchsed a USB interface from Tom's (http://www.tti-us.com/sim/prod-USB.html) . I get everything installed as it says to but no joy. I can not get the transmitter to talk to the FMS program.

Any ideals?

Thanks

Bill

If you have a programmable Tx, ensure the following:
- Model set to plane (not heki)
- All mixing off
- Modulation set to PPM
- On some makes of Tx, it can be required to select between Aerobatic/Standard model.
- Worthwile to create a seperate model on Tx for PC use.
- If your Tx turns on automatically when the interface is plugged into the Tx, do not switch on the Tx (JR, some Futaba).
- If your Tx does not turn on automatically, you will have to remove the crystal, and turn the Tx on.

In Windows:
- Go to Control Panel/Gaming Options.
- Does the device show up, and is it's status OK? If not, some driver/setup problem needs to be sorted out.
- Is there more than two joysticks available under Control Panel/Gaming options? If so, select the Controller ID tab. Renumber the IDs so that the USB Interface ID is 0.
- Do a full calibration on the interface as you would do with a normal joystick.

In FMS:
- Select Controls/Analog Controls...
- Select Joystick interface.
- Click on Ressourses.
- You should now see the blue bars moving as you move the Tx sticks.
- Click Ok.
- Click on Mapping/Calibration.
- Click on Calibrate, and follow on-screen instructions.
- Next, you will have to set the correct channel to the correct function.
- Move the throttle, and see which channel's bar moves up/down.
- Type this channel number into the Throttle channel.
- Repeat for Rudder, Elevator, Ailerons channels.
- When done, close all panels, and select any airplane.
- Test the setup by flying an airplane. If any channel works the wrong way round, click the Inv box of the specific channel to reverse the servo direction.
- If the airplane is flying correct, you will also need to set up the Chopper calibration.
- Select Controls/Joystick Interface again.
- Click on Interface/Mapping.
- Take the Rudder, Elevator, Ailerons, Throttle channel settings, and repeat it under Tail, Nick, Roll, Pitch. The first 4 settings must match the last 4 settings, including the Inv selections.

When above does not solve your problem, there is either a driver/software/interface problem.

Got it to work. How do I setup a HELI with it. I am using a RD6000 Sport radio.

R.T.F.M. :) :)

Then if you get stuck after reading the sticky thread above ) http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157116 ) then post a question regarding a specific question ;)
