Hello all,
There is alot of people that is creating there own scenery to Reflex XTR.
My question is, how do you do that? I've been taking panorama pictures with my camera and i have them on my computer, but how do i do to get the pictures to work as a scenery in Reflex XTR??

XTR's scenery requires 3 files: a geometric definition of the scene, a bitmap of the collision objects (white on black) and a bitmap of the actual scene (360 degree by 180 degree panorama).
As an example, under the Umwelt/Wlp directory is a directory for the scenery called "Modellflugverein Grosse Heide 73 eV". In that directory you will find the following files: S2.wlp, S2_1a.bmp and S2.bmp. This scenery came with Reflex XTR.
The S2.wlp file is the geometry definition which nobody but Reflex knows about.
The S2_1a.bmp is the collision bit map which nobody knows how to use but Reflex.
The S2.bmp file is the panoramic picture and it has to be precisely 8160 pixels by 3060 pixels.
People who create their own scenery are just replacing the panoramic bitmap file and using an existing geometry file and collision bitmap or a blank collision bitmap file.
I've edited the S2.bmp panorama and created some primitive scenery using a photo editor. It's an interesting exercise. Creating a good panorama is a real problem unless you have the right camera equipment and stitching software and you should and try to match the geometric horizon line.

Daniel,
There's a very long thread (quite old now) over at www.runryder.com about creating the .BMP for XTR scenery and how best to go about "stitching" the pictures - You need to know the rules about perspective involved to make one that works well and that thread explains it all.
