Stick around. I think you'll find it'll get busier. Tell your friends.

If you like mailing lists then try http://www.mindspring.com/~thayer5/ffpages/lists/subscribe.html
Otherwise, did you want to talk about anything in particular ?

How about Eric Clutton's 'KWOD' from 40 years ago.
A model with a built-in headwind (or as the designer puts it ' an exercise in induced drag ')

Eric always was a bit of an eccentric. He was club secretary when I were a lad (and he was building FRED, which he tended to describe as a model scaled up so you could sit in it). I always liked his "Fishface" myself. I've got a copy of that plan somewhere I'm sure.
Eric's still around albeit exiled to the US and he has email if you wanted to discuss it with him. I don't think he flies much FF today though. Too busy selling PAW diesels to the Americans.

This model appeared in Aeromodeller Annual (1974-5). It's designed by Ted McCaig of the USA (my apologies if misspelled - it was wrong in the Annual). The Flying Octagons is powered by a Cox Golden Bee and climbs like a homesick angel, gradually slowing down and then hovering - pointing vertically upwards - until the engine stops. It then falls back, dives slightly and ends up in a large diameter gliding circle. Not a thermalling model but a good glide. Needs longish grass to land in.
Anyone else got any oddball aircraft to show?

Ebenezer Scale looks to be fun; I built a Tripe for a Dart, and it flew well, power on. When the motor quit, glide was ~ Mach 0.8, landings predictable. Built a Fokker DVII, same result. Great to keep the kids amused: fill it, flip it, pitch it, and they would chase it all day long, eventually learning how to fill/flip/pitch on their own.
Working out a Mosquito with two E-Charger power units, hope to fly it soon, Ebenezer forever!
