for all you fms people. i was wondering if someone could tell me the name and place to download the fms designer software. the software allows you to design your own landscape and aircraft.

This is a great question to be asked in the Simulator forum so it has been moved here.

I don't know about landscape, but the software for designing the planes is called Metasequoia.
Here is a link http://rcp.web.infoseek.co.jp/Rc_hp2/fms/Metasequoia_e.htm
And this is for Metasequoia itself. http://www21.ocn.ne.jp/%7Emizno/main_e.html
Make sure you use the MetasequoiaLE R2.1a version. :)

After you've created a 3D model in Metasequoia, you'll need to create a .par file to fly the model in FMS. The .par file holds wing geometry information, thrust info, drag info, wheel positions etc.

Every FMS model has a preview .jpg file, .par file, direct3D .x file and usually a sound .wav file too. Take a look at what comes with some other model to get an idea of what's usually included. The .mqo file is only included if you want to let others modify the 3D model.

You can find Mr. Masuoka's .par editor for FMS here (http://rcp.web.infoseek.co.jp/fms_e.html#A8Editor_Converter).

Here (http://rcp.web.infoseek.co.jp/Rc_hp2/fms/fms_scenery_te.html) is a tutorial page for creating FMS landscapes. It seems to give all the info needed to create new sceans.

This site is a little old and was for FMS beta 7 landscapes. I'm not sure how the new landscapes are different and what changes would be needed if any.

The links at the top of that page also have a aircraft creation tutorial as well as downloadable planes/landscapes.

A wealth of good info!

Have fun

Oop's!

Sorry Ggunners! I just realized we submitted links to the same site!

Great mind's think alike I guess! Regardless, this site has a good amount of info for anyone interested in FMS.
