View Full Version : XTR - Some planes won't start up on the ground

I just downloaded the Globemaster model for Reflex XTR from RC-Sim website but I found this one suffers from the same problems as some of the other jets, this is that they won't throttle up when on the ground the engine is just dead. If you raise the launch height to 5metres then the engines will run and you can fly away. It seems to be a problem that only effects jets and then only some of them.

Am I missing something here?

Andy.

Andy.Maybe the enhanced parameter files at rc-sim.de. ;)

My guess: The first version, as other jet models, had a somewhat 'fragile' landing gear. When you start simulation in Reflex (F4), the model is 'put' on the runway from some height. Falling down, it will possibly 'overstress' the landing gear what causes the model to stop. The effect is different on different airfields. You might yourself change the landing gear parameters or use the newer parameter sets.

Jürgen, the model creator, still fails to define some engines/rotors in RMK. Thus the effects of engine failure, asymmetric thrust and downthrust are not simulated correctly. If you are able to do it, you could define a small rotor/propeller inside each of the jet engine bodies to give Reflex a hint where the thrust vectors should be. You could also try my parameter sets for the A318 and read the accompanying text file.
