After 3 years of design and testing the new Carbon and Kevlar Raptr will be released In just a few weeks. Sign up for our newsletter By clicking here (http://www.atlantahobby.com/raptr_intro.asp) to get a first look and introductory pricing on the exciting new DLG manufactured in the USA by atlantahobby.com.

My name is Cliff Whitney and I am the owner of Atlantahobby.com. I am not a world class pilot but I love sailplanes, know DLG and I know quality.

After flying DLG for the past 4 years and consulting with some of the worlds best pilots I knew competition class DLG gliders could be better. I was tired of waiting 6 to 18 months for a world class Carbon and Kevlar ship to be delivered once ordered. So with the help of craftsman RA Pernell (the RAP in Raptr), we took the best features of other proven designs (and a big pile of money) and using the highest quality construction techniques, better materials, stronger and stiffer structural components, a new wing spar design and proven AG45c-Ag46c-AG47c airfoils from the good Dr. Drela we feel we are ready to release the Raptr that will take discus launch flying to a new level.

The Raptr is all hand made, one at a time. It is designed for the worlds top ranked competition pilots but available for the recreational sport pilot like you and me.

We have a full parts selection available and have gone to great lengths to even have our own boom tubes manufactured from the ground up. I am holding off posting the unit on our website until the release date but be assured we are building up stock and some of the best pilots are currently flying production samples. You can expect to see a quality product, quality packaging and quality documentation with eachRaptr delivered.

Look for a very complete building and flight review in several of the leading RC magazines in the June time frame. These reviews are by a world class DLG pilot that you will all know and trust.

I guarantee that the new Raptr will give you hours of round and round enjoyment. Please sign up for more details.

Looking forward to the intro! From the photo, I thought it was a Taboo GT at first.

Good luck to Spencer Lisenby who will be flying a new Raptr at this weeks International Hand Launch Glider Festival.

While I wish I could be there for all of the fun, Spenser and two other local North Atlanta Soaring Association (NASA) pilots will attend this years event and represent the South East side of the USA. Spencer will be joined by Charles Frey and Peter Jensen. All of these pilots are accomplished Sailplane and DLG pilots and while Spensers first love is the 200 MPH version of soaring he is a well accomplished DLG pilot and I welcome the opportunity to have him represent our new Raptr at the event.

You can read more about the NASA group at
http://www.atlantasoaring.com/ and if you are at the event please stop by and say hi to the Georgia boys!

Got a note last night from our Atlanta Boys who stated they had a great time out west at the Poway festival and were able to meet pilots from South America, France, England, and New Zealand!

I want to extend a Congratulations to Spencer Lisenby flying our new Raptr. This was only Spencers second formal competition and out of 82 of the worlds best pilots, Spencer finished 14th! Well done Spencer.

I don't have all of the final scores but it looks like Spencer had at least one perfect 1000 round and ended up with a score of 8639. Phil Barnes took 1st for his second win at Poway, Paul Anderson 2nd, Jow Wurts 3rd, Mike Smith 4th, and Bruce Davidson 5th. Oleg finished 11th (a past Poway winner).

I am looking forward to more stories from this gathering of the worlds best pilots and again want to extend an invite to all of you to the 14th Annual Mid-South Soaring Championship (MSSC), June 24-26 where you will have a chance to win a new Raptr in the DLG portion of the contest. More information about this gathering can be found at

Are the build instructions anywhere or should we just follow the Taboo GT instructions? Also what is the price and wait time to get one?

Thanks!

Thanks for the note and your interest in the Raptr,
Each aircraft comes with a CD Rom full of detailed instructions and many tips and photos. It is big to post online as it is over 70 Megs of data but you can find it here
http://www.atlantahobby.com/images2/raptr/Raptr_Instructions.pdf. This is just the directions, there is more on the actual CD.

Deliveries are moving forward but, we have a long list waiting. If you want one send me an email and I will put you on the list and notify you when one is available. You can then take it or I will pass it to the next on the list. No deposit is necessary. As of now I would estimate 3-6 weeks but don't hold me to it as the situation can vary (and does).
Hope this helps

We continue to ship regularly, what is your name? If you sent me an email requesting to be put on the list I am sure I have you there.

Also Paul Naton has just finished a review of the Raptr and has it featured in his new DVD along with the XP4. You can see it and get on his list here
http://www.radiocarbonart.com/Pages/buildclinicmain.html.

Thanks again for your interest, you will not be disapointed.
