Hey people.
I'm trying to build an RC car from scratch and a need a bit of help. Hopefully this is the correct place to post/thread. I have absolutely no idea how to design the internal workings of the motors, axles, wheels and or moving parts. Could someone please lend a hand? I just need a starting point or the basics of how the internal moving parts operate.
Greatly Appreiciated,
-ShiningKnight-

I ment to add that the RC car that I'm looking to build will use an electric motor and hopefully will be built for speed. But, a basic axle, motor, design is good...if anyone is able to help.

Unless you haev acces to a full machine shop, injection molding equipment, and various other tools at your disposal. But all you need is a good imagination and some mechanical knowledge and you can get started on the design! First put it down on paper then go from there. You say you have no idea on how to design axles, wheels or moving parts? then how do you know what you want to build? Dont mean to sound rude, but Read some books first, Have you ever seen a radio or remote controlled car? there is a difference between radio and remote controlled. Look at a friends RC car or go to the hobby shop and ask to look at parts of them(although I am sure this will get old quick for the store owner if your not buying anything) There are a ton of how to books at most hobby shops, To explain every aspect of design with you would be to say the least an exhausting time. Because if you have no working idea of basic principles on electric motors, circuits ect... ect.....Not to mention the suspension geometry, and blah blah blah.... the best to do is go to a flea market buy a bunch of old plastic models open all the boxes up throw all the parts in a pile, throw away the directions and be creative, After all you rnot inventing and RC car your just designing or improving upon one. So you dont have to start from "Scratch" per say. Plenty of Highschool and college physics projects dont even require students to re invent the wheel! go buy some! buy a motor, and design the chassis and suspension, God you got me rambling away!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
