Long story sort I used to fly 6 years ago before I got married and moved into a small apartment. Now I have to place to fly and I want to start again this summer. Now I know that I need to replace my batteries for my radio but I have few questions.
1) can someone explain to me the difference between mA and mAh and what is there importance?
2) how long should it take to discharge them using a battery cycler?
I also have some fuel (15%) that is about 6 years old but it was in a cool dark place do you think it might still be good?

1. mA (milliamps) is a current measurement. 1000mA = 1A (amp)
2. mAh (milliamp hours) is a battery capacity measurement. A 1000mAh battery can deliver 1000 mA (1A) continuously for one hour before it runs out, or 2A for 30 minutes, or 60A for one minute, etc.
The old fuel should be good as long as it was tightly stoppered. It won't do any harm to try it if it looks OK. If it's a castor based fuel and if it got cold, it may have white sloppy masses in it. If so, warm it up a bit and give it a good shake until they dissolve. If they won't dissolve completely, either filter them out or buy new fuel.

I'd just recommend getting fresh fuel. If water has gotten into it, the engine won't run very well.

Like DaveSawers said about the fuel, if it has been stored tightly capped it should be OK. I have fuel that has been stored longer than that and it is fine. The best way to find out if it's bad is to try it. If it's bad the engine won't run well (or at all). If you toss it without trying it first you may be tossing perfectly good fuel.
