Hi,
I have finished my Let Asw28 and the rx I have in it is a Futaba 8 channel job. It fits great until I fit the seat moulding, which will fit, but not as I'd like.
I have gone to great lengths to make sure the cockpit is clutter free and as out of the way of the seat as possible, my main problem seems to be that the servos have to plugged into the futaba unit from the top, which makes the seat sit too high as it is directly above
Can anyone recommend an 8 channel rx (35Mhz) with the sockets on the end ? I note Schulze do one (the 835w) but this seems to be a 6 channel made to work like an 8 ?
Thanks, Elliot.

Do not be fooled by the looks -- 8 channel Sculze is a very good reciver. It is used in F3J/B competitions in planes with carbon structure. I would not hesitate using it in less demanding environment. I have 4 or 5 Schulze 835 & been totally happy with them. In fact I have almost given up using other recievers ;)

The schulze 835w RX has 8 chanels, the 435 four. Both got within short time an excelent reputation in f5b, f3k. In the Nuernberg fair this year they have shown an 5 ch RX, and all RX got an software update, (http://www.schulze-elektronik-gmbh.dethey still havenīt updateted their site). I have 3 - two 435 in a dlg and one 835 in a f3f moldie - higly recomended. schulze does two versions the w(horizontal connectors) and the s (vertical connectors)

Hi Elliot
I too vote for the schulze receivers. I've got quite a few now and rate them among the best. The schulze 835w is an excellent full range 8-channel Rx.

Futaba makes a high end, FM reciever in 8 and 9 channel that has plugs on the end as you seek. the 9 channel is for PCM, while the 8 is regular FM
I believe servo city and others have these in both low and high band for futaba

I use this one in almost all my sailplanes :

Don't know if it's available in 35 MHz, though.

Michael, I've got some bad news: Hitec in their infinite wisdom has discontinued this receiver. If you need one, let me know. Most dealers are sold out.

Hitec in their infinite wisdom has discontinued this receiver
I wonder what %$#@)%(^&* idiot came up with that idea....
I think this is(was) one of the best rx's around, especially in sailplanes, the low profile with the plugs installed sideways, it's very handy.
If you need one, let me know
Thanks for the offer, I have no immediate need for one, but will get back to you on that !

Michael, couldn't agree with you more. Technically, it's called a deprovement. They may have recently hired someone from Microsoft.

Multiplex make two synth receivers with end plugs, a 7 and 9 channel. I have the 7 and it is very small. Check out the sizes here

ACT look good on paper. However I've only heard a little feedback about them. It was all good but it would be nice to hear more. The weights and ranges are good (4.5g and >800m range for the 4 channel up to 19g and >1200m range for the 8 channel). If you translate the ACT website on google or similar (or if you speak German) you'll see they take range quotes pretty seriously and claim that the ranges they quote are typical ranges assuming adjacent channels are in use etc, not optimum ranges under perfect conditions.
I think I'll be using their 4 and 6 channel receivers for lightweight stuff. I think the DSQ 8 would be suitable for your purposes and it's pretty good value too. They also have synthesised and multiple receiver systems. A few european vendors sell these receivers. Here's one, www.lipoly.de (http://www.lipoly.de/).

I have taken a look at ACT recievers. Interesting. However, Schulze 835 is such a proven, widely used and reliable unit that I have not yet felt any neeed to change to an anoher brand.
Recievers are boring devices... ...until they quit working

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I originally thought the shulze had only 6 sets of pins, however on closer inspection (on a website image) I can now see that there are a further two sets kinda hidden underneath..... oops. This is perfect for my requirements and it's great to hear they are such excellent receivers too.
in fact I ordered an 835w today !
I'll let you know how it fits into my ASW.
Cheers, stinky5

Thought I'd take a shot of the schulze next to some of my other rx's... ( hopefully I've attached it correctly).
Futaba 8 channel on the left, futaba 6 channel, dalasy 6ch, schulze 8 ch and a jeti 5channel (another firm favourite).
toot toot ! ;)
