I currently have an Electrafun XP. The throttle is simply an on/off switch on the Tx.
I was talking to a guy who said it was easy to convert it to a proportional control as the receiver is already proportional.
He said all I needed to do was install a trimpot in the Tx.
He said there was a web site which showed you haw to do it.
Anyone heard of this or can help with info?
Thanks in advance,
Ray from Aus.

G'day

I say that with the right accent 'cos I am from Sydney.

I don't know the website, but I know of the magazine article in RCM News.

http://www.rcmn.com.au/bakiss50.htm#200570

(search that page for 'electrafun') The very bottom of the page has info on ordering back issues... I think it should cost less than $10 to get a copy of the magazine to you.

Post your success (or otherwise) on RC Groups for all.

Use 5k POT to replace the switch.

You must trace the fixed resistor POT on the PCB (2 resistors in series to form the fixed POT)
R1 R2
a ---|---XXXX--|----XXXXX---- b
| |
|---Sw----|

R1 R2
a ---|---XXXX--|----XXXXX---- b
| 5k pot |
|---XXXX--|
| |
|-----|

Thanks

Thanks for your responses.

Almtld, looks simple, but I can't fully understand your schematic.

Once I find the 2 resistors do I by pass them with the old switch wires?

Thx.
