Hey now,
So for the past few years I've been flying slope gliders and small field electrics. Well the other day I wasingging out my shop, no, really digging out :o and behind a stack of old ukie kits, under a box of s-400 motors I found a plastic box with a bunch of old two stroke motors. In there I discoverd a couple of K&B .15s, a couple more K&B schnurel .15s and one compleat and parts for two more cox conquest .15s
I started thinking about flying QMs back in the seventies, so I crossed my fingers and kept digging, well it didn't work, I don't have any quarter midget kits or wrecks. Anyone know where I could find kits, plans or anything else for QMs? I know nobody races them anymore but I think it'd be kinda fun to play around with one again and I'd hate for these old engines to go to waste.

I haven't seen one of those for many years. I guess you'll probably have to roll your own.

Hey now,
Thanks for the link, not quite "period", but they look like they'd give me that feel. I may have to get one (or more) of these :D
Still if anyone knows of "period" pieces, please let me know.

I just bought a Jack Stafford QM P51 on eBay. Pricey, but it should go well with the OS 15 CV I have NIB. Trying to gin up some interest in racing here in Egypt

Now, does anyone know of someone who is cutting cores for the Stafford QM P51. I want to keep the kit intact and just copy the balsa parts. And I have a friend who wants to build on also. Resond to jlingrel2002@yahoo.com if you can. It will be appreciated.

Hey now,
I'd love to race with you, but I'm in California USA, that'd be a long way to travel. However, if you do find a way to replicate the stafford kit let me know, I'd like one :D

Go to Jack Stafford models and let them know we would like to see QM racing come back. I have been hounding them for months. They will cut the cores, but they want me to order at least 15 sets. More than I could use in a life time. Maybe we can start a list of interested people. I can scan the wood parts and let them out in jpg format if there is enough interest and we can find the cores. The other thing would be to build a balsa wing, but I really don't have the cad software to generate the drawings.

Hi Guys,
We at Jack Stafford Models would be happy to bring back this kit. The thing is that we would need 15 FIRM orders before we could produce it. This would be the complete kit and not just the cores. It doesn't pay to produce one or two kits.

Hey now,
Sounds reasonable to me, I can see where the set up would be too expensive for less than fifteen sales. How much would you want per kit and how much lead time? I'm poor right now but things like that change fast for me. I guess I gotta go talk to the guys at the slimer, er wet power, er, glow field. I think I could drum up some interest at least for a nostalgia class.
Thanks for the help.

Yes we still make the old q/15s kits most go to the E guys.
And we cut CNC cut foam cores for any thing.

Hey now,
Saw those, they look pretty good. May be the way to go. Don't much care for "T" tails though, still, gotta go with what I can get...

Hi Guys
I have 2 complete Jack Sttafford kits from the 1970's, if anyone is interested
Super Buccaneer and P51 Mustang.
Both complete in boxes, in good order with drawings, canopies, hardware etc., ready to build. I am in Australia, so you will need to consider cost of mailing to US

Hi Kevin,
Would a .40 fit into this fuse?

If that's Dave Latsha's fuse, the answer is yes. Chip hyde put a Q40 engine in one with a Larson Napier Heston wing and flew it to a 1:07. This was at weak signals in '96 or '97 I think.

Check out the LR-1 from Wild Hair. They don't have it on thier web site yet but you can see it in the Electric high performance section on the third page.
All molded .15-.25 side midget. I got mine.
