Hello all,
I have been assigned as Moderator to this group. I design and build my own scale models and have been making flying models of one sort or another since the age of eight. Like many, I have gone through all the traditional stages of modelling, such as rubber power, free flight, control-line, single channel etc.' along the way.
As far as the group is concerned, please keep it friendly, helpful and courteous - no swearing, politics or religion.
Thanks,
Mike Smart.

Welcome Mike! hope the interest in this particular area picks up.:)
I am just putting the finishing touches on my Balsacraft Bearcat, with a Blenheim in the works. I too have been building and flying for a long time , some kits, but I enjoy "scratch" as well.
Good luck.

Thanks Airnut 2,
There's not a lot of 'traffic' here is there? Good luck with the Bearcat and Blenheim, I'm just finishing off drawings for a scratchbuilt Messerschmitt M35b.

Nice to see you on board Mike. Hope to see more scale topics here. I have just started buiding a four stroke design after a long time building electric driven a/c. I will now probably tend to use the lighter airframe designs that I am used to. The older engine designs seem to have very beefed up fusalages and wings, probably more than is required. Maybe building in lightness will make them fly better.
Build light,and fly better.

Hey Mike. I have found that electric allows much finer detail than IC, since you don't have to worry about the vibration of the engine.
I would be interested in your plans for the M-35. This one was an arf that I subsequently strained through a fence. It was heavier than I would have liked, but I would like to build another one some day.
