Das,
When the M2000 arrives, store the box safely and go get yourself a trainer; something like the Multiplex Easy Star. The M2000 is *not* something you want to start with; it flies well, but it is not forgiving of mistakes, and the first time you dork it you will be very upset.
As a third or fourth plane, the M2000 isn't a bad idea, but for a beginner you'll find it much too fast and fragile.
Good luck, and when you get the confidence up, let us know how you go!

I would listen to DrZiplok. The mirage 2000 is definitly not a plane to start with. I started this hobby last year and have gone thru numerous planes. My first edf jets were the GWS A10 and the Alfa MIG. But, before those I flew the parkzone cub, the GWS tigermoth 400, a GWS slowstick. I worked my way up to the EDF jets.
I would recommend taking your money and buying a good trainer. Fly it for a few months before trying a jet.
I have a HET F18, built ready to fly, but I am waiting to fly it after I finish my Halair MIG 29. In other words I am working up to the faster jets. This is not a cheap hobby, but if you plan to do it, spend the extra money to learn first. It will pay off in the long run.

Ok guys i get what your sayin but i need some realistic optoins because i dont have hundreds of dollars because i alredy bought the m2000! So i need some realistic options. Ive had the airtech a-6 intruder the airtech stealth bomber. And a jumbo jet airliner!! ok so please give me some more realistic options. :) :)

Without money there is not any options. The Hitec equiptment can be used for many years but in the learning to fly process you must learn with an airplane that has docile handling habits otherwise there is little chance for survival, it is the fact of the real world. Find a model airplane club that you can get to and let them get you flying, you might need to spend more money on a proper trainer like the Slow Stick or Parkzone Cub but there is no skipping the line of learning progression. I had to the same thing in 1978, I went to a hobby shop and bought a Piper Cub kit and built it, then the owner of the shop intorduced me to the flying club and taught me how to fly. In all we all had to do the same thing. Good luck.

i looked i havent found ANY flying clubs here in sunnyvale(CA) so thats sucks. Like isnt there a way to learn how to fly with it like using quater throttle practicing landings then try practicing like turning at like 5 feet above the ground. then once im good at that i could really fly it would that work? also im hella good at rc stuff . But im also very good at fixing stuff so if i brake it i can fix it. so would these things work.

Das,
You're just a few miles away from the flying field at Rancho San Antonio; you should come out one weekday evening when it's calm and hour or two before sunset, there will generally be lots of folks out flying and you can watch and ask questions and get a feel for where you might want to start.
Check out bayrc.com for directions, as well as how to get to the flying area at Baylands, which is usually pretty active on weekend mornings.

Hey Das,
Everyones given you some good advice. I fly my edf's at our field and they do attract attention from the bystanders they are cool but definately not a trainer. I started with a Slow Stick, graduated to an aileron trainer (Estsrter) snd then low wing (Corsair, etc) and faster (upgrading motors) and eventually the jets.
Although the foam is more forgiving than balsa, it is not always repairable. In addition, with each repair you make, you add more weight.
Money is a factor, so spend wisely...
FWIW!

Here is a bad "landing" (http://www.rcgroups.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=15742&sort=1&cat=500&page=1) only a couple feet off the deck with an M2000. Actually, glitching took it down. (Yeah, thats me :o)
There isn't any way of training on this bird EXCEPT with a buddy box where someone else is at the controls in an emergency. Maybe try that, the cord $20? I'd get a Slow stick for $30 from HP and use your Hitec stuff there first. Thats what I'm doing for my buddy getting into flying.

Yeah, I've done that too! :o I'd star out on a SLO Stick and move over to this when you've got a good feel for "right is left left is right" when the birds oncoming. It takes a while to get your minds eye in tune to second nature with the plane.

Move the fan back to where the rear of the housing is the same diam as the foam ID. That is where it's be. I turned the housing so the mounting ears went out he bottom, and the top went under the vertical stabilizer. If you are running a TP 2100 pack, this is a great spot for balancing. Anything smaller batterywise and you might want it farther forward for balance.
Try reading the big kamdax M2000 thread. Here is about where I realized I would buy one and other got theirs in the mail and started builds. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197039&page=19&pp=15
