Hi There,

This message was originally posted in the Aerial Photography forum but I thought I would also ask here as well......

I have a question that I hope someone here may be able to answer.

I have recently built my own 2.4GHz composite video Tx and Rx using modules from www.radio-modules.com. The Tx has an output power of 500mW into a short whip antenna. The Rx is via a Yagi and I am getting a very good range and good quality pictures on the ground ( I am using a hi-res colour ccd board camera - model:AM-0240H).

Q. Am I likely to get any problems when installed in the plane. For example, interference, or saturating the input to the 35MHz receiver. Anytips on installation like screening etc. (if needed).

All the best,

Tim

Tim,

I use a 500mW TX on 2.4gHz pretty close to the Futaba dual conversion RX without any problem. The only problem I ever had with interference came from a DC-DC converter that I don't use anymore. The complete video system runs on 5 volts from a separate power pack. Just as a safety measure I keep the RC-Areal as far away as possible but in practice this means that they are no more than about 6-8 inches apart.
