Hi

This is the first time I've tried to design anything that looks like a "real plane", I'm normally just delighted if what i build flies at all!

The plan is to make a 24" span lightweight model, suitable for larger indoor venues, or calm evenings outdoors.

Construction will be 2mm depron stressed skin, with a single brushless pusher and lipo pack providing the urge.

I'm hoping to keep the auw down to abut 200g, which sounds like a bit of a task, but should produce that graceful slow scale-like flight I'm hoping to capture.

Current hiccup is working out how to make a stressed skin version of all the compound curves that abound on a Vulcan's wing, but I'll get there ...

If people have thoughts/ideas/suggestions, feel free to chip in :)

I guess you do the wing in sections, ie between ribs, at least they can all be developed. Ive also heard but not seen that guys are hot wire cutting beaded polystyrene (white) foam and vac bagging depron skins over it with really good results.

I'd check the F-16 Parkjet thread, and the SU-27 & F-16 EDF Build threads by Thomas Nelson, he does wonderful stuff forming Depron & FFF.

Thanks, just been having a quick look at other threads, looks like I've some serious reading to do!

Think I'll build the wings in sections, then stick them together afterwards.

Regards vac bagging depron over a blank, I assume they use heat to set the depron in its new shape?

Cheers
