Anyone ever thought of making a wing for the BOT with foam ?? Instead of waiting for wing failure... I may try to come up with something in foam and balsa sheet it perhaps ???

IDEAS ANYONE ??

Sacrilege !!!
That's like putting mayo on a hot dog.

You might be able to buy a wing kit from skybench or ARF wings from Art Hobby.
If you do go with foam you would find it a lot easier to go with a regular taperred wing.

I am thinking this - I may build the center section with foam and sheet it with balso - I can make it much stronger than the ARF wing and still have the look--- or I may do as you said - just build a foam wing with a regular taper so I can enjoy the plane.....after all the fuse, stab etc is just fine - its the wing that ruins the whole thing.......

Give Les Horvath a call, I was talking with him about this just a few days ago.

He might have just what you need.

Yup, the Bird Of Time.

Give him a call, he may be able to help you out and his product (CNC wire cut foam wing cores) quality is excellent.

eightwgt,

I came across this 145" sailplane that uses a foamcore wing. The construction is documented here:
