What do you guys know/think about FMS free simulator? I would like to get it to practice, but have never heard of the site and dont want anything to happen to my computer (adware, spyware installation). Recently got a new computer and dont want to mess it up. Any help is appreciated.

good program and it wont mess it up. It is not quite as good as greatplanes sim but its free so what do you expect. As far as flying goes it is the same as the other. The only real difference is graphics. You also get more planes on fms. There are guys who can give you links. I have a disc that has hundred of hundreds. Haven't flown near 1/3 of them yet.

Sid,
I think FMS is great. Where did you find the free models. I have about 10, but getting more would be cool. Let me know the links if you have them. Thanks, jim

If you go to http://www.tti-us.com/sim/
You can get a free program that downloads hundreds of planes automatically. While you are there you can buy a tx-pc cable too ;-)

http://www.rc-sim.de/ is also a very good place to download models.

I've got the FMS program with the transmitter cable I bought off eBay. The program is okay (what you expect for free). But that just got me wanting for more. Then I caught wind of AeroFly and placed an order for it. I wanted to do some 3D flying and the FMS is not really geared for it.

FMS is agood program. It will let you learn the basics. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles.
It will not mess up your computer and you will not be flooded with unwanted spam.
Go for it.

Thanks for your help guys. If you guys know anything else about it that would be great. My parents are still worried that it will screw with the computer since it is a site that Ive never heard of.

Your parents should have Adaware, ZoneAlarm and anntivirus (GriSoft is free; McAfee is like 5 bucks)

No issues at all with FMS.
