Some have asked if it's possible to use a speed controller and LiPo batteries ( TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE LITE WEIght AND SIZE)for glow powered planes. It is my understanding that the BEC on the ESC will NOT support more than 1Amp hence not being able to run more than 3 or more standard servos. A simple circuit using a 7805 Three terminal regulator and a few filter caps can be used for small park flyers( micro servos),but beyond that, no.
I believe a regulator in the size of a power transistor is available TO 3 package?? that will work up to 5 A. Mabe the R/C manufacterers will redesign the airborne systems for LiPos 2 cell. . TXs should be not problem using 3 LiPos packs
Being a retired EE I'm out of touch with todays new devices.
Any Help??
