Here is a picture of a gas racer. This is a picture of a QM40, which use .40 engines and 15% nitro.

Also attached is a link to where I stole the picture from (Thanks AJ).

Here is my beloved Nemesis....its a bit faster than graupner's :D. It keeps my reflexes sharp and performes 1000 foot diameter loops with ease.

Yup,

The only place around where you actually need 2 spotters inorder to feel safe:eek: But once you can handle the Basin you can fly anywhere and not get spooked.

The Nemesis is a kit made by Rick Tocci. It is an older kit and is pretty scale with respect to current designs. The fuselage is obviously thicker and it is about 15 mph slower on the course compared to modern airframes (Vendetta's). Racing it is fun but I also really enjoy sport flying it. Out of a split-s it is getting right around 200 mph.

shhhhh!

Thanks pdawg , yes the wheel pants get a lot of people they are all carbon and incorporate the leg and a "T" mounting flange on top . I really have to do some racers in color though but after a very bad year last year with crashes havent got around to it yet

QM which has a 21 size engine and my F400/QM40 which is the larger Are they from kits? If yes, by whom?

I have been surfing the net for Ranjit Phelan's F3D planes. Just beautiful. I guess he makes them from scratch (and just for himself?).

I am not seriously in the market for a pylon plane, but I have been keeping track of a few sources, just in case...

http://www.bigbruceracing.com/ is definitely on the "list".
http://www.calspeedpros.com/ is another obvious one.
http://www.superminnow.com/hmracing/racing/index.html website looks a bit old.

http://www.rcf3d.narod.ru/eng.htm says nothing about prices but the product looks fine to me.

http://www.bahnhofbredband.se/~wb855613/Conqueror/conquero.htm and
http://www.bahnhofbredband.se/~wb855613/Ultima/start.htm looks pretty cool but it is apparently a non-commercial thing.

http://www.comp-airframes.com/ does not look like much but they are talking about a Caudron C-460 Q40

There have been some interesting looking planes at http://www.corvidae.net/ but they are closed (including the website) for a couple of weeks now.

edit: let's not forget this http://www.f3d.de

Here's a pic of a few of my 1/2 A racers for the 2006 season. I hung another one up in my LHS and put a sign on it that says $100.00 - ready for your equiptment. If I can actually get that out of it I'll be making about 3 bucks per hr.
