I'm in the process of determining the correct wing to fuse rod hole alignment and am noticing that the wing root shape doesn't really match up well to the mating fuse portion. I'm wondering if I should first align the leading edge, then align the trailing edge with the fuse and not worry about the misalignment in between??? The instructions and plans have been no help and the way I mount the wings to the fuse will affect the incidence. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Andre

This is purely a cosmetic issue. The Fusion has an all flying stab so there is no such thing as "decalage" on a Fusion and wing to stab alignment is just a matter of pushrod adjustments or transmitter trim settings. The only aerodynamic concern associated with setting the wing's incidence relative to the fuse is the angle at which the fuselage meets the air. This should be a trivial concern unless your fuselage wing roots are more of a mismatch than I am imagining.

If you wish to fix the cosmetic issue you can make a couple plywood ribs that match the wing roots. Glue these to the fuselage roots maybe shimming them out some distance with balsa. Then just fair these new roots into the fuselage with an epoxy/filler mix. I like to use West Systems 410 filler for stuff like that.

If I was building a new fuselage with V-tail for an existing wing how would I set the wing angle of attack vs the fixed stabs? CompuFoil gives an ideal angle of attack for each airfoil. I assumed this is the angle that I should set the stab vs the wing?? What is the ideal V angle between stabs?

Thanks again,

Phil

The most important thing you can do at this point is make sure both wings have exactly the same angle relative to each other.

No the wing roots don't match perfect to the fuse, but they're pretty close. Not enough to worry about when the wings are taped on.

Ive been considering a fusion in the future, but now that It doesnt have a pre-drilled
fuse wing rod hole???? What did your ship weigh jon ? Lee
