View Full Version : TEK Nozzle Measurements for MICRO vario development???

For all those guys who want to use varios to help them find thermals, it'd be nice to have a TEK nozzle, though $60 seems pretty rediculous to pay for a bent piece of tubing. Might someone measure their commercial nozzle and post the dimensions here so us less rich people can bend our own?

Part of my purpose, so I get this in the open, is to make a DIY vario. From reading around, a compensated vario (not netto) can be as simple as a single pressure transducer with asingle pressure port connected to a TEK nozzle. Transmit this pressure reading to the ground and, viola, you've just made a vario. How about a micro vario for the DLG guys or even MHLG guys??? But those $60 TEK's from Picolario or Skymelody are too large for DLG purposes, so I want to bend my own. Thus the original question :-)

Many thanks to the guy who sits down with calipers and actually does this!!!
