Covering blades

Has anyone tried using "zagi tape" aka "wing tape" to over 'gyro blades? It is significantly heavier thatn other coverin materials?

It's been done for sure. aerobalsa.com gallery.
I stick to monokote trim sheet. Light and sticky.

Hi,
For the Huff and Puff using Aerobalsa blades and also my elctric gyro all I did was to cover leading and trailing edges overlapped and then another between them. No carbon stifner, just bare blades + zagi tape. Despite a few crashes and arrivals the blades have survived despite the rotor pylon breaking. Bill
