What process or software do you need to make a stand-alone video from XTR. Its easy enough to record video in the XTR with the Recorder option but this needs XTR to play it back.
I would like to know how it can be done without needing XTR for play-back, say, with something like MS media player.
Andy.

Yup FRAPS is the way to capture XTR video but it saves raw frames (cos there's no time for compression in realtime while its recording) so the files are HUGE. Therefore also get virtualdub and copy of the www.divx.com codec and re-encode the videos into Divx which will reduce them anything from 10 to 100 fold.
(even better might be to H.264 encode them but while a lot of people have a divx player installed not so many people have H.264 playback (yet!))
