OK, I am about to purchase Aerofly Pro Deluxe and I have a couple of questions about using it with my transmitter (I have a Futaba 7C). First of all, will the transmitter be turned on while using it on the sim? Also, will I need to have a seperate model memory set aside for when I am using my TX for the sim? And lastly, do the Expo, EPA, D/R functions on the TX work in the sim just like in real life? Thanks in advance.

Zach,
Yes the TX must be on. If your TX has a removable RF unit you should
remove it as this saves the batteries tremendously. If you have an open
memory it is best to use it for the sim only. All the setting like Expo, etc
are related to the sim just like the real thing. :)

Thanks for the reply Steve, I checked with my buddy today who has the AFPD installed on his computer and he is using a JR TX and says that he doesn't have to turn his on, it gets it's power from the USB port. Does this vary from Tx to Tx?

The radio in not turned on by the switch on the radio, it's automatically turned on when you plug the interface cord into the radio. The radio doesn't run off power from the USB port, it runs off the battery in the radio.
Like rc-eflyer said, if your radio has a module, take it out when using on the sim, that way the TX isn't sending out a signal, your battery will last a lot longer. If your radio doesn't have a module, take the crystal out.

Maybe we're not talking about the same thing. True, you don't even have
to have a TX connected to the interface if you're using another controller
like a RealFlight Interlink as a second controller. But, if you're using your
TX as the only controller I fail to see how it could work, anyway mine doesn't
and the program says no tX found. I'm using aan Eclipse 7 from Hitec.

lol, Charlie and I must have been posting at the same time. His post
would explain why some radios don't need to be turned on .

I'm don't know to much about other radios, I use JR. Sorry, I was thinking of the Reflex sim (you have to use your own radio). With JR radios, as soom as you plug something into it (interface cord, buddy box cord), it automatically turns the TX on.
