Here's a pic of some old KLG glow plugs? I had given to me last year. They are of a large coarse thread-the same as the klg spark plug pictured. Were these the first replacement of spark ign plugs? When people started throwing away their ignition equiptment?

Hi. Snorks
Here's another picture of a KLG plug, not quite as old as the ones you have but still from the late 50's. They were a very good and robust plug that would give useful service when using up to 50% nitro fuel(competition Free Flight).
The thread on this one is the standard 1/4" by 32tpi. The majority of yours seem to be 3/8" and I think by 28tpi(not positive on the latter). There were also adaptors available to convert from 3/8" to 1/4".
Those were the days (good title for a song there) :D

Absolutely! A near bullet-proof plug; my last one was in use for many years before it finally gave up the ghost.

No - just the present-day 1/4" plugs

Norman M. I believe the plug you showed may be late 1940's.It looks exactly like some I purchased just before I was called up into the RAF (National Service) in 19XX.I havent flown a noise model since then ,but I loaned one to a slimer some time back, and he reckoned it was as good as as any present day item Cost? about 50 old pennies! In those days you could buy nitromethane, nitrobezene, methanol, amyl nitrate ,amyl nitrite, and ether in almost any chemist. 16 yrs old!
