Hi All,
I was thinking of building a wood version of a bubble dancer and was wondering if anyone else had done this.
I don't know if the extra weight of a ply/balsa/glass pod and spruce spars would make it to heavy to perform as well a BD should?
Any comments.

If you leave the carbon out of the wing spars it will explode on a winch. You might be able to build it light, but not as strong. That level of performance costs money.

Leaving the carbon out of a Bubble Dancer is kind of like leaving the steel belts out of a radial tire. Yes, It's round. Yes, it's black. But, it sure won't work as well as the real thing.

BD's are great, but don't build it weak!
