Its true, I learned on the H9 Alpha. Still have it and the engine is a great lil running thing.
Never missed a beat when I was flying it.

Modern engines do not need breaking in. Just fly them a little rich for the first few flights before trying to get maximum performance out of the engine.

I have the ALPHA and I had to do some initial tuning and it definitely ran much better after about a half gallon of fuel through it. Now it runs awesome ides very nicely.

the engine you are refering to are the evolution line of engines. These engines are suited for beginners, because they have been broken in at the factory. However, they will always run better after 1 or 2 tanks of gas.

As a counter point, the new evo .46 I got last year had its low needle screwed completely in. Engine never started until I took it back to hobby shop. Also, there are limiters on both needles which limit you to how much
you can adjust. I took both off. So if they said this engine is broken in at the factory, then the chinamen who put it together must have been on a saki break or something.

Ivanc, yeah, I think your right on that!!! Probably some kind of rice wine then!!!!
Mine will run okay after the first tank. Has a tendency to quit after throttling down to almost idle. Warm weather, easy to start just by flipping the spinner like my OS engines. It does have half decent power for the cost.
