you wouldnt believe this unless it happened to u ,I went to my club field on a very cold day and attempted to maiden flight my gyro, first out of my warm car the gyro started to turn nice ,then I waited for the wind to pick up more and it did ,but the plastic no 5 I used for the flapping got rigid from the cold and The rotor got sluggish and I aborted the test flight? :o

Well, you're just gonna have to move to Florida!
The only thing we cold weather flyers have over the Florida guys is our rotor systems work best in cold, dry weather. While it's true plastic gets stiffer (and brittle) in cold weather, it's not going to slow your rotor down. You may need to check your axel bearings.
Now get back out there and try again!.................And good luck.

I'm assuming you have a Delta hinged head.
You may want to put a shim or two under the TE off your blades to help them spin up in the winter. I guess the rotors need the negative that the delta head is putting.
