I just flew my second Hanger 9 Extra Easy 2 trainer today and I have encountered a serious flaw somewhere. The manual does not call out the CG. location but it balanced fine 3" from the leading edge. The firewall is slightly out of plumb which makes the evolution engine thrust line angled approx. 2or3 degreesbelow horizontal. when it flew it wanted to point straight up in the air even at half throttle. At full throttle it would just continue to loop. I had to give it full down elevator to reduce altitude. The engine stopped at approx. 100' up and it glided down perfectly into the wind, so I didn't feel it was a balance problem. If the engine is pointed down like that could that be the problem.
please advise.
thanks for the help.
Allen.

Is your elevator even with the horizontal stabilizer when the control stick is neutral? Maybe the intended CG is farther forward than 3", resulting in the tail producing too much down force when the CG is in it's current position.

A bit of downthrust is normal, and helps to keep the nose down while power is on. Maybe you need a bit more. You're right to think that it's probably not a c.g. problem, for a rearward c.g. usually makes the model very sensitive and twitchy.

When you were flying at full or half throttle, could you get to a situation where it would fly straight and level with some (or a lot of) down elevator?
