Well Lee, at least there are two of us now. Hopefully others will get on and we can begin to get others to post when and where they are flying, or whatever.
The S400 ship is just about completed after a rework to get the wing to mount on to the new fuselage. I had to band saw the wings apart in the middle, do "open spar" surgery to add 1/4" brass tubes for the carbon wing rod. The V-tail looks kind of weird sitting up on its "V" mount so I may have one last change to get this in to a better flying position.
More later.

Hi Don,
That picture was taken last November at our 2004 Turkey Fly at our field on 175th St. It's not too far from I-35 and Gardner.
We'd love to have you stop by once (if) the weather clears and we get out again.
Please subscribe to the larger thread, we'll post a new thread for the particular day or weekend with notes about what and where we will be flying.
Regards,
Lee

Looks like the weekend may not suck weather-wise. Anybody for some aerotowing? I have 2 scale planes that need some trim flights.

Sounds good. Jim, I'm going to start a new thread with the weekend's dates to keep things orderly around here.

Lee, Cool!!! Should be a great tool for the club. FYI, if you get a chance we are supposed to put a RC-Groups link on our webpage. They have them on the websites forum on the group, just cut and paste the HTML.

Here is a link to the club's aerotow schedule flyer. Please feel free to download and mail on to your friends or print a copy and post it at your local hobby shop. The more attendees to the aeortow the better.
Its a great part of the soaring hobby that, until you've witnessed it, can't believe how cool it is!

RE Aerotow
Yeah, Tom's right, we are trying to get all of our club members to be more than witnesses though.

I'll have to check your club out. I just purchased a Gentle Lady Kit to give sailplanes a try. I have not started it yet though.

Good starting choice, many of us have started with this or a similiar model. If you have any problems or questions don't hesitate to contact us either through this forum or our web site.

Rex,
I checked out the website at the top of this thread. Just a few questions:
Where are the fields that your club uses?
Do you accept new members?
Any on the Missouri side?
What type of electric planes are flown in your club besides sailplanes?
Thanks
John

John,
We have 3 sites, the most used one is on 175th St. and Lone Elm Road, which is in Olathe, but actually it's about 2 miles east of Gardner. Our second site is also on 175th St. about 2.5 miles west of Gardner (We call it our Edgerton Site), and the third site which is our event site is in Belton,MO at 195th St. and State line Road. This is an airport we only use occasionally because it's all fenced in and requires special permission to use.
I understand there may be several fliers at the Edgerton Site tomorrow, and we may have a few going out there Saturday as well.
We definitely accept new members, and we fly all types of electrics from indoor models like slow stick flyers and IFO's, to speed 400 sailplanes, to 1/4 scale Fokker Triplanes and Pipercubs. Not to mention a ducted fan and several flying wings.

Sounds good. Just need AMA to join and/or fly? Any idea when the gathering will be on Saturday?

I am interested in learning more about the KCSE club and joining. The link to your Web site does not seem to take me to a soaring Web site.
Thanks,
